Quadrant's New Granville Island Classroom hosts Fire Extinguisher Training Certification


Have you ever put out a live fire? Do you know when you should try a fire extinguisher and when you just need to get out? What should you be looking out for when you’re working in marinas and boatyards?

Level One MST Training starts off with fire extinguisher training certification that includes putting out a live fire.


AND, we have a new office and classroom on Granville Island at 1806 Maritime Mews.

A big shout out to SKOOKUM YACHT SERVICES and PILOT MARINE YACHT SERVICES for making the much needed renovation project happen in time for classes!

Campbell Black receives Maritime Excellence Award

Every year the Maritime Museum of BC presents the SS Beaver medals for outstanding contributions to BC's marine industry. One of this year's awards goes to Campbell Black for his work as one of the founders and leaders of Quadrant Marine Institute's apprenticeship training program for Marine Service Technicians.

The award medals are cast from actual parts of the wreckage of the SS Beaver, the first steam-powered vessel on this coast, wrecked off Vancouver in 1888.

Other 2017 recipients included Mr. Barrie Farrell, Capt. Keith McLaren, Mr. Roland Webb, and S.A.L.T.S (Sail and Life Training Society). Congratulations!

Marine Corrosion Certification March 12 – 16, 2018 (registration will open in fall 2017 so stay tuned).

Note: ABYC prefers technicians to have electrical certification prior to taking corrosion certification.

New CAF contractor for greater Vancouver and the Island

Quadrant welcomes Roger Boulet as our new competency assessment facilitator for the greater Vancouver area and Vancouver Island.


Roger is a Journeyman Marine Service Technician, a local marine service business owner and an MST apprentice sponsor. His broad experience in the marine industry make him a great addition to our dedicated team of board members and instructors.
